John and I just got back from another amazing day trip to Erie with the kids before life gets crazy this fall, and we were reminded once again of how much we love every inch of this state.
From the rolling hills of Beaver and Butler Counties to the shores of Lake Erie and back over to Romolo Chocolates to satisfy my sweet tooth, we are so incredibly lucky to call Pennsylvania home.
There's no doubt that we face a lot of challenges ahead. Political discourse in Harrisburg and all across this country has turned divisive and ugly against immigrants like me, and our most vulnerable. Many communities are still struggling, and our infrastructure is crumbling. No one knows this better than John.
Here's the thing: the people we meet every day — whether it's at an event, or a Turnpike rest stop — give me hope. Hope that if we come together, we can level the playing field and ensure every community in our state has the chance to grow and succeed. Hope that if we accept each other for who we are, no one has to live in fear of discrimination in their community or at their place of employment.
You know both John and I don't like to ask for money, but it helps us prepare for the work ahead — and we're about $1,902 short of where we need to be. So I have to ask:
Will you chip in just $3 or more toward our end-of-month fundraising deadline?
We're so grateful. With your support, we can do anything.
xo,
Gisele
