John – This is a game changer for gun violence prevention: Joe Biden just chose Kamala Harris as his vice presidential pick to take on Donald Trump this November.

This historic decision could be the ground shift that will elect Joe Biden and defeat Donald Trump. By choosing Harris, Biden takes a bold stance. He proves he understands a fundamental problem our country is facing: gun violence. And with two gun violence prevention champions on the ticket, we can finally overcome the NRA, Donald Trump, and Mitch McConnell. We can take action to prevent gun violence and save lives.

A Biden-Harris administration means stopping the flow of weapons into our communities by strengthening background checks, ending the sale of assault weapons in the United States, properly funding the background check system, banning “ghost guns” and ghost gun kits, and investing in community-based solutions to reduce conflict and prevent violence. But only if we all join the fight against the NRA’s bought-and-paid-for politicians like Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

With the NRA in shambles and on the verge of dissolution, a Biden-Harris administration could tip the scales and free our country from the grip of the gun lobby.
