The Trump Plan: Aiming Not to Make a Deal But to Make a Deal Possible

The Trump Peace plan makes a profound departure from peace plans in the past, all of which have failed, and all of which were met with a continuous pattern of Palestinian intransigence and terrorism. This plan realistically states that if the Palestinian objective, and their version of “justice” entails the total elimination of the state of Israel, it will not get the backing of the United States, and that if the Palestinians revert to their usual pattern of rejectionism and violence, the United States will not stand in the way of Israel’s claim to the land that any reasonable peace process would have ultimately been left in Israel’s hands.
