During his 2019 State of the Union Address, President Trump triumphantly proclaimed, “America will never be a socialist nation.”
Americans – rightly – cheered because we know socialism has FAILED everywhere it’s been tried.
The latest attempted socialist takeover is the so-called “Most Favored Nation” scheme.
Like most schemes created in Washington, D.C., this will have the exact OPPOSITE effect of its stated purpose.
This provision essentially requires that the U.S. implement the STRICTEST price controls in the world, making us the least attractive nation for pharmaceutical innovation.
FreedomWorks would oppose this scheme under any circumstances.
But in the middle of a global pandemic – while medical researchers are scrambling to develop a vaccine for COVID-19 – government-imposed price controls are even more sinister.
Implementing price controls is one of the few things that could actually stifle the progress being made towards the development and production of a vaccine.
The truth is, the free market is the ONLY way to lower prescription drug prices.
