Today marks three years of war in Sudan. In that time, 13.6 million people have been uprooted, and over 20 million people are starving—including some who are living in famine conditions. Today, Sudan is the world’s largest humanitarian emergency.
As we mark three years of war, will you rush a lifesaving gift to deliver care to women and girls in Sudan and beyond? [[link removed]?]

“We had to watch two of the babies die before our eyes.”

Dr. Hasan Babikir , director of a UNFPA maternity hospital in El-Obeid, Sudan, told us that after a mother delivered premature triplets and there weren’t enough beds available to save them all.

This is the reality mothers, newborns, and their doctors face every day in a healthcare system on the brink of total collapse.

70% of healthcare facilities are no longer operational. Those that are functioning are strained beyond capacity.

In El-Obeid Hospital, 25 babies are born every day , but there are only five beds in the neonatal intensive care unit. There is only one fully functioning anesthesia machine for four operating rooms. UNFPA midwives frequently work 24-hour shifts and must buy basic medical supplies themselves, as essentials like gloves, medicines, and equipment have run out.

As we head into another year of crisis in Sudan, we're doing everything in our power to reach mothers and their newborns with critical sexual and reproductive healthcare. Will you deliver lifesaving aid wherever women and girls need help most with a gift today? [[link removed]?]

Mothers and newborns are dying. Not from lack of care, but from lack of resources and support:

“We have lost patients due to prolonged waiting times. In many cases, emergency patients arrive while all rooms are occupied, sometimes resulting in the loss of the mother,” said Dr. Babikir.

Thanks to gifts from supporters like you, our teams have installed solar power to keep maternity hospitals running during blackouts. We've rehabilitated delivery rooms, trained skilled health workers like midwives, and deployed mobile health clinics to reach displaced women and girls cut off from care.

But over 30 million people in Sudan are in dire need of humanitarian aid after years of unrelenting conflict, and our resources are running out.

The war in Sudan is taking a heavy toll on women, girls, and families. Will you rush a gift on the three-year anniversary to support women and girls in crisis zones like Sudan? [[link removed]?]
