Dear Friend,
We recently launched a new nationwide immigration detention map, and I want=
ed to share it with you.
Across the country, immigration detention is expanding rapidly. Today, more=
than 70,000 people are detained by ICE =E2=80=94 a record high =E2=80=94 a=
cross roughly 265 detention facilities operating across the United States.
Our interactive map is designed to help families with loved ones in detenti=
on and movement organizers quickly access key information about detention s=
ites as well as vetted resources.
Detention often operates in the shadows. People are disappeared into a syst=
em that is difficult to track, difficult to navigate, and intentionally hid=
den from public view. Our searchable map helps make this system more visibl=
e and provides
a small but impactful form of relief to families looking for answers.
=E2=80=9CDetention operates through speed, confusion, [and] isolation, and =
so the role of this map is to try to interrupt that by centralizing the inf=
ormation that people will

In other words, the map serves as abolitionist infrastructure built to help=
people navigate and challenge the detention system. Tools like our map, al=
ongside other initiatives like our National Immigration Detention Hotline, =
support survival, connection, and resistance to detention and deportation. =

We recently launched a new nationwide immigration detention map, and I wanted to share it with you.
Across the country, immigration detention is expanding rapidly. Today, more than 70,000 people are detained by ICE — a record high — across roughly 265 detention facilities operating across the United States.
Our interactive map is designed to help families with loved ones in detention and movement organizers quickly access key information about detention sites as well as vetted resources.
Detention often operates in the shadows. People are disappeared into a system that is difficult to track, difficult to navigate, and intentionally hidden from public view. Our searchable map helps make this system more visible and provides
a small but impactful form of relief to families looking for answers.
