A refugee camp in Sudan

Dear John,

I’m writing to you after spending time with our partners and the Church in Sudan, as we reach the third anniversary of the outbreak of war. Our partners have reached displaced families with food and safe water – providing support that has saved lives.

But I must also share that the gap between overwhelming need and available support is vast. So many families are facing increasing violence, hunger and disease. That is why today, I’m asking if you will consider setting up a regular gift so our work can continue.

Give regularly to Sudan

Your regular gift can buy a food basket for a child, a pack of hygiene kits for a family who need the essentials or can help build a toilet to stop disease spreading through a camp.

Amid the suffering, I have also witnessed extraordinary courage and solidarity. The support reaching those in need reminds me of the Good Samaritan, who cared for the wounded man and promised to return.

Your regular gift can be that same promise today. It can show that love of neighbour is stronger than violence, despair and war.

Support families from Sudan every month

Thank you for all you have already done to stand with those affected by the ongoing war in Sudan and for all your support throughout Lent.

Kayode Akintola

Head of Region, Africa

P.S. I return to Sudan at the end of the month as a sign of solidarity with the people you are supporting. Together, we can help restore hope and dignity.
