John.
Did you see Mary Gay’s email about our Democracy Summer Fellows yesterday? This is one of the best parts of the job; I’m genuinely excited about this every year, and I hope you are too.
In fact, if you’re as excited as I am, will you consider helping these awesome kids by chipping in to help cover their experience? [[link removed]]
Democracy Summer Fellows are the real deal.
We’re talking about students who choose to spend their summer doing actual campaign work – not just scrolling and theorizing, not doing a vague, unpaid “internship” where they get coffee. They’re embedded in our campaign. In person. Knocking doors. Calling voters. Helping us run events. Learning from people who have spent decades in this fight.
I’ll be honest with you: one of my favorite parts of this job is watching new people fall in love with this work. That moment when a fellow realizes that democracy isn’t just a concept — it’s a shift you show up for, a door you knock, a conversation you have with a stranger who wasn’t planning to vote but now kind of is?
That’s the good stuff. And it’s worth funding.
Past fellows from programs like this have gone on to work for federal elected officials. Some have run for office themselves. And every single one of them leaves having done real work that made a real difference in a real election. Will you help us make this happen? [[link removed]]DONATE [[link removed]]
That is not a small thing. Especially right now.
Here’s the breakdown:
* It costs about $1,000 per fellow for the full 6-week program.
*
* Fellows are paid. (As they should be!)
*
* They’re local, in-person, and doing the work that wins elections.
*
* And your donation goes directly toward making that possible.

Help us bring these fellows on board — whatever amount makes sense. And stay tuned, because I have a feeling you’re going to want to hear more about what they’re up to this summer. [[link removed]]
Thanks for reading this far (I know I talk a lot),
Luke
P.S. Genuinely, this is one of the things I’m most excited about this cycle. Chip in if you can. Mary Gay will absolutely not take credit for my enthusiasm about this, but she should. [[link removed]]
