That’s exactly right.
It’s unacceptable that every time the rising cost of living puts a squeeze on working families, corporations and their CEOs find new ways to pocket even more of our money. It’s unchecked corporate greed.
That’s why I sent letters directly to the leadership at oil and gas companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron.
My proposal is simple: Gas prices are on the rise, and Americans are feeling the pain. Rather than take home record compensation packages — bonuses, stock awards, and salary increases — these companies should do something patriotic for a change and pass those on as savings at the pump for regular people instead of profiting off rising costs.
It would be the right thing to do, but I’m not holding my breath. That’s why I fight to pass more Green New Deal legislation that can transition our economy away from dirty, expensive oil controlled by some of the greediest corporations we’ve ever seen and towards clean, green, and cheap renewable energy.
Listen, Big Oil bankrolled Trump’s campaigns for president because they know that under Trump’s pro-pollution agenda, they make a killing. If we’re going to fight back against the huge warchest that Big Oil has at its disposal, we’re going to need thousands of grassroots donations from folks like you to keep up.
It may sound like a daunting task, but it starts with just one contribution. Even $5 or $10 makes a difference if everyone does their part.
Chip in to my campaign today as we continue to take on corporate greed and fight for a fair economy and deliver a green energy future. It’s past time for CEOs and billionaires to stop lining their pockets while working families fall farther and farther behind.
