Hi folks – it’s Kansas Governor Laura Kelly reaching out on Tax Day – and this year, it hurts a little more than usual.

Since Donald Trump took office just over a year ago, taxes for average Americans have drastically increased. Because of his foolish tariffs and Big, “Beautiful” Bill, we’re paying the price, literally, as our taxes skyrocket – all while his wealthy cronies are enjoying huge tax breaks.

It’s not just ridiculous – it’s devastating. Trump’s failing policies are taking money right out of the pockets of hardworking Americans.

As governor, I’ve done everything I can to keep money in working people’s pockets.

I axed the food tax in Kansas, saving taxpayers upwards of $500 million a year, and the average family $500 or more annually on their grocery bill. And I passed bipartisan tax legislation, providing nearly $2 billion in tax cuts for Kansans over five years: reducing property and income taxes, eliminating the state tax on Social Security income, and increasing the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit.

In total, I’ve provided Kansas with approximately $1 billion in tax cuts per year.

This is what my fellow Dem govs and I are working toward every day – while the Trump administration is trying to profit off of Americans.

So on Tax Day, I want to send a message to Donald Trump: While he refuses to lower the taxes of hardworking Americans, Dem govs will keep fighting to put money back into their pockets.
