As a country, we’ve faced an incredibly trying spring. A global pandemic and economic crisis dramatically altered everyday life in our country and has exacted an incalculable toll. Now, the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police -- yet another act of police violence directed at a Black American -- has ignited the consciousness of countless Americans calling for systemic change of a broken justice system. 
 
Through it all, President Trump has offered no leadership and has only fanned the flames of hatred and dischord. Cory said it best - Donald Trump is a divisive president who has failed our country. 
 
Cory is up for re-election this November. He is only the fourth African American ever elected to the United States Senate in our nation's history, and one of only three African-Americans currently serving in the Senate. Cory is continuing to make history every day -- most recently, leading the charge on police reform -- and brings to the Senate the heart and values we need a lot more of right now in our nation’s capital. 
 
As you know, Cory ran hard for President last year, putting everything he had into a campaign he was incredibly proud of, including financial resources. With so many important and highly competitive races in New Jersey this year (including five front-line Congressional seats Democrats are defending), as well as the most important Presidential campaign in our lifetimes, it is critical that Cory run strong to secure his own victory and help Democrats up and down the ballot.

While these times in our country are incredibly hard, as Cory often says, “if America hasn’t broken your heart, you don’t love her enough.”  Let’s look to support and elect people to lead our country whose voices inspire, whose actions unite, and whose ideals undoubtedly promote justice. I know Cory is one of those people.
