In Washington today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michael Issa

presided over the first direct meeting between Israel and Lebanon since 1993.
Secretary Rubio emphasized that the talks will “take time,” and that the objective of today's first meeting was to “outline a framework upon which a permanent and lasting peace can be developed” and bring a “permanent end to Hezbollah’s influence” in the region.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter

said , “We discovered today that we are on the same side of the equation, and that is the most positive outcome we could have hoped for. We are united in liberating Lebanon from an occupying power dominated by Iran, called Hezbollah.”

Hamas rejects disarmament plan
Hamas today rejected the Board of Peace's disarmament plan for the terror group, a Palestinian official

told the BBC. According to the plan, Hamas must hand over its weapons before any rebuilding in Gaza can begin.
A Hamas official said, "We are waiting for [Board of Peace Leader Nickolay] Mladenov to provide a clear timetable for Israel to fulfill the remaining obligations of phase one, along with guarantees to halt Israeli violations, before any discussion of phase two begins."
Hamas is violating the ceasefire agreement it signed, clinging to power and bringing more pain and suffering to Palestinians.

IDF continues operations against Hezbollah in Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon
The IDF today continued its operations in the Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon, a stronghold of the terror group.
Soldiers from the Givati Brigade got three Hezbollah terrorists, including one from the group's elite Radwan unit, to surrender after exchanging fire at close range.
"At the end of the battle, three terrorists threw down their weapons and surrendered to the troops," the IDF

killed by the Israeli paratroopers after injuring 10 soldiers in a firefight (video below).
