Friend --
We proudly announce that, Senator Kamala
Harris has been selected as the nominee for Vice
President of the United States.

Today we celebrate that Kamala
Harris is the first Black woman to be selected as our Vice
Presidential nominee-- this is truly a historic moment.
Joe Biden made an outstanding
choice for the future of America by selecting Senator Kamala Harris as
his vice presidential running mate. He chose someone who, from day
one, can and will bring her lived and professional experiences to help
craft dynamic solutions to issues like wealth and educational
inequities, the economy, global concerns, climate change, criminal
justice reform and community safety.
Senator Kamala Harris represents the next generation of
leadership that can unify the nation that is prepared and ready to
lead on day one.
The road to 2020 is powered by
Black women—16 million of us are eligible to vote, and we turn out at
higher rates than most other groups. For decades now, we’ve been the
determining factor in many races. It’s wonderful for our community and
the country that we’re now beginning to see Black women’s investment
in democracy translate into support for our leadership.
The 2020 election cycle has the
potential to be a historic moment for Black women, and Black women are
again projected to be a critical and influential voting block in both
the Democratic party primaries and general election.
The selection of Senator Kamala
Harris is a testament to this pivotal moment for our nation. We were
proud to support her 2016 election for Senate, and since that time,
Senator Harris has been a champion for the issues that are critical to
Black women such as the economy, healthcare, education and gun
safety.
Since taking office, she has introduced and cosponsored
legislation to:
- Raise
wages for working people
- Reform
our broken criminal justice system
- Make
healthcare a right for all Americans
- Address
the epidemic of substance abuse
- Support
veterans and military families
- Expand
access to childcare for working parents
Sign on and congratulate Senator Kamala Harris and join us
in cheering on their road to the White House!
Make sure to share our Facebook
and Twitter
posts and follow along on the road to Election Day. We look forward to
working hard to make sure the nation sees how #BlackWomenLead when
Kamala is sworn into office.
Onward,
Glynda
