Here’s what I know from my work representing Virginia families:
People aren’t struggling because they’re doing something wrong. The system isn’t broken - it is working exactly as designed. The people in charge of fixing it keep cashing checks from the people who made it this way.
Healthcare costs are up. Childcare is unaffordable. Gas prices swing with every foreign policy mood. And our Representative Rob Wittman has voted to cut the very programs that help working families keep their heads above water, while accepting money from the defense contractors and corporate PACs who profit from patchwork solutions or when things get worse.
That’s not representation. That’s a transaction.
Our campaign is different by design. We don’t take AIPAC money. We don’t take corporate PAC money. We don’t exchange favors with the donor class. Every dollar in this campaign comes from people like you. That’s not a talking point, it’s a choice that shapes every decision we make.
That matters in a race like this one. VA-01 is winnable. Rob Wittman is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress right now. But flipping this seat takes resources, and ours comes entirely from the grassroots.
Can we count on you to give $5, $25 [ [link removed] ], or whatever fits your budget right now? It will go directly toward canvassers knocking doors, phone banking, yard signs that are popping up throughout the district, and a campaign that can actually compete.
And if you can’t give money right now, that’s okay. Come join our volunteer brigade [ [link removed] ]!
This is what it looks like when a movement is actually funded by the people it represents.
In solidarity, Salaam and a wonderful team.
P.S. Every donation before April 30 helps us hit our April fundraising goal. Donate today! [ [link removed] ]
P.P.S. Why don’t corporate PACs tell jokes? They don’t want to give anything away for free.
