It's official: After much anticipation from across the country, Joe Biden has officially announced his running mate to serve as Vice President in his candidacy for President of the United States: Senator Kamala Harris!
This VP choice is so important to the work that we are all doing on the ground as Democrats, lifting up the voices of those who are too often left behind.
Kamala Harris is the first woman of color to be on a presidential ticket. And she would be the first woman ever to serve as Vice President if Democrats win.
It is a groundbreaking moment for our party and for our nation, and it's so indicative of the current political landscape — things are changing and our country is moving forward. There is a major shift in the type of leadership that we want to reflect, and I'm hoping to break some glass ceilings of my own by becoming the first woman ever to represent MN-08 in Congress.
