I am proud to end our mayoral campaign with honor. Although we did not get the
result we hoped for I am humbled by the outpouring of support we received in
this election.

From the bottom of my heart, MAHALO!

It’s truly amazing what my team accomplished without special interest
endorsements or PAC funding. Despite being outspent 2 to 1 with donations and
PAC funding combined against us, we were just short 15,000 votes of hundreds of
thousands of votes cast to get into the general election.

The pandemic certainly made it difficult to hold traditional grassroots
activities but we rose to the challenge and got creative. We found new ways to
reach out to the community so we could share our message of change.

We ran a positive campaign and we gave voters a choice. The voter turnout was
at a record high with thousands of new voters sharing their voice.

I commend all of the candidates that ran and I congratulate Rick Blangiardi
and Keith Amemiya for making it to the general election.

I’m so proud of the work my team did in this campaign. Mahalo for believing in
me.
