John --

We've told you before that J.D. Scholten's opponent, Randy Feenstra, relies on corporate PACs to fund his campaign -- but what does that look like?

Randy Feenstra's in league with so many different groups, it'll make your head spin:
  • The Koch family sent him $10,000 to make sure their agenda is carried out;
  • Big oil and gas sent him $21,350 to make sure their pockets stay fat;
  • The Republican establishment sent him $63,500 to make sure D.C. controls his decisions;
  • Foreign-owned ag corporations and billionaire CEOs sent him $87,460 to make sure their interests are protected.
Now compare that to some recent small-dollar donors who have chipped in to J.D. Scholten's campaign (and click here if you want to add a donation to this list):
  • Deb, a teacher from Iowa City, donated $25 because she cares about public schools;
  • Joyce, a retiree from Spirit Lake, donated $100 because she's scared about Social Security cuts;
  • Paul, a nurse from Sioux City, donated $25 because he's worried about health care;
  • Conrad, a farmer from Burlington, donated $4 because he wants our family farms to thrive again.
We believe the strongest grassroots campaign is built one person at a time. It's made by you and your neighbors chipping in $4 here and $25 there. It means that J.D. Scholten is beholden to no one but people like you. Not the lobbyists. Not the special interests.

You.

But with Randy Feenstra's campaign gearing up to attack J.D. Scholten with corporate PACs dollars, our movement really does need folks like you to step up and help fight back. If you can, please donate $5 or more right now.

We've seen what Feenstra's donors want. They want another vote to dilute labor laws, another vote to protect offshore tax havens and benefits for the top 1%, another vote for Donald Trump to do whatever he wants, and another vote to give monopolies even more control.

But it's not what Iowans want, and definitely not what working families need. They need someone who will stand up to the establishment and end the failed status quo.

That's why J.D. has refused to take money from corporate PACs, why he told the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee he didn't need their help, and why we're reaching out to you instead of corporate, special interests.

We can beat Feenstra's donors this year -- but not without the help of grassroots donors pitching in whatever they can. John -- chip in $3 or whatever you can to J.D.’s campaign today. Hope you're ready to take this campaign all the way to Washington.

Thanks,

Team Scholten
