What I’m about to tell you is by far the single most dangerous, racist, sexist legislative attack against our work.

Real Justice

We have an emergency situation, John. I don’t say this lightly. We need all hands on deck!!!

Missouri Republicans are trying to pass a new law that would allow the governor to remove elected St. Louis County Prosecutor Kim Gardner from office. They are voting TOMORROW.

This is by far the single most dangerous, racist, sexist legislative attack we have encountered against our work.

Kim was just reelected last week by the voters of St. Louis with more than 60% of the vote, but the Missouri State Legislature is set to vote on this new law on TOMORROW at 10:30 am. This is how much they hate her. Time is running out. We need to act fast.

Will you sign our super-petition and demand that the Missouri State Legislature vote against this Amendment, and that Governor Mike Parson, and St. Louis elected officials stand against this blatant grab for power?

sign now

This is one of the most anti-democratic acts we’ve seen in the modern era.

Kim Gardner IS St. Louis’s Circuit Attorney. With the help of Real Justice supporters across the country, she won reelection with over 60% of the vote because the people stand with her platform. But that didn’t stop Missouri State Sen. Bob Onder from introducing an Amendment to Missouri Senate Bill 1 that would allow the Republican Governor to fire Kim Gardner.

This isn’t just a threat against the people of Missouri — it also serves as a dangerous precedent that will weaken democracy across this nation. If SB1 is approved with this amendment, the Missouri government will inherently dismantle the democratic right to vote and this will serve as a model for anti-democratic leaders across the nation to maintain their racist systems of prosecution, mass incarceration, and police brutality.

The power to choose who our elected officials should be must remain with the people. Anything less would be a violation of our rights as Americans. We refuse to let Republicans get away with this undemocratic attack. But we need to work hard and fast before they vote for this new Amendment tomorrow morning.

A national public outcry could stop this Amendment from passing. Please sign our petition and then send it to five more people so we can stop Missouri Republicans from removing Kim Gardner from office.

Hurry,
Shaun
