These state-level bills -- based on the suppressive SAVE America Act, which is blocked in the Senate -- will harm voter turnout and block eligible voters from casting valid ballots. Our efforts to protect the fundamental right to vote depend on stopping them, one state at a time.

Democracy Docket: As SAVE America Act stalls, GOP states are quietly enacting their own proof of citizenship laws [[link removed]]
When the House rammed the SAVE America Act (the new version of the SAVE Act) to passage earlier this year, we turned to the Senate to stop it. So far that effort has been successful, but that doesn't mean the threat is over.
State by state, opponents of voting rights in state legislatures around the country are pushing their own version of this suppressive legislation ahead of the midterm elections , John.
Ten states have laws -- four of which passed during this second Trump administration -- that require proof of citizenship when registering to vote. Florida, Mississippi, South Dakota and Utah all enacted proof of citizenship voting bills in the past two weeks . In as many as 12 other states, bills are moving through state legislatures. If they all pass, that would mean nearly half the states in our country have passed mini versions of the SAVE America Act .
Defenders of voting rights know that non-citizen voting is already illegal, extremely rare, and that these bills are written in ways that could disenfranchise millions of eligible women across the country. That hasn't stopped anti-voting groups from pressuring states to pass these new restrictive voting laws, because the suppression is their goal.
Please, John, we need to stop this dangerous legislation wherever we can. Pitch in with $35 or whatever you can and ensure millions of women's voices continue to be heard in our elections >> [[link removed]]

Opponents of voting rights in Congress, state legislatures, governor's mansions, and in the White House favor bills like the SAVE America Act because they know it could suppress millions of eligible voters, changing the composition of the electorate and potentially empowering them and their party for years to come.
These bills are all being fast-tracked by vote suppressors to be in place before November, John. This movement is a stunning assault on our fundamental right to vote, and we can not afford to let this kind of anti-democratic legislation become law.
Catherine Engelbrecht, the founder of suppressive organization True the Vote, described the right-wing conspiracy theory group’s focus during a recent livestream: “ If the SAVE America Act isn’t going to pass then I’m going to use every tool at my disposal to try and get states to react to something ,” Engelbrecht said.
These dark-money suppression groups are willing to go state-by-state to enact their agenda and we have no choice but to match them with our grassroots power.
The consequences of these bills could be catastrophic for our democracy. Chip in with $35 or whatever you can today to stop more of these voter suppression bills from becoming law >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
