Anti-choice extremists have been waiting for an opportunity to undermine Roe v Wade since it was decided in 1973.

Since then, Congressional Republicans have made attacks on privacy rights a key strategy in their campaign playbook. From cutting funding from Planned Parenthood to forcing the dangerous Gag Rule on doctors, they're willing to go to any length to turn back the time on reproductive freedom.

For decades, we could count on the courts to defend the Roe decision and the right to choose. But we can't count on this Supreme Court - the most extreme in decades - to honor legal precedent. And with the Senate confirming Trump's radical right-wing nominees at a record pace, reproductive rights face the greatest threat in a generation.

The best way to safeguard our rights? Congress must pass a bold, unambiguous law protecting the right of every individual to make their own reproductive choices. And Congress must prohibit any government entity from denying, interfering with, or discriminating against that choice.

The radical right knows that it's up to Congress. That's why they're pouring so much money into electing a dutiful pawn who'll toe the party line and vote "no" on any effort to protect the right to choose. My opponent has already said he wants to defund Planned Parenthood and severely limit access to essential reproductive care.

I have always said that patients - and their doctors - have the right to make their own health care decisions, and I'm proud of my reputation as a vocal pro-choice leader in Congress. My record has earned a 100% rating from NARAL; in fact, I'm the only candidate in this race endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Since coming to Congress, I have always voted to expand access to affordable reproductive health care, opposed arbitrary restrictions to essential services, and stood with Planned Parenthood in the face of deceptive attacks.
