Backchannel is a free, live videocast presentation and discussion that will be taking place each week. Our readers and supporters will easily be able to watch this presentation from one of our thinkers on a designated topic, and submit their questions for the subsequent Q&A session. Our first Backchannel event will take place with Paul Gottfried, Chronicles magazine's editor-in-chief, this coming Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. CDT. Paul doesn’t need much of an introduction, his knowledge is deep, and his thinking is razor sharp. He’s a prolific writer and a huge asset to our cause.

Dr. Gottfried will be presenting on How to Deal With Gender Madness.

A prevalent idea among our media and academic elites is that gender differences are reducible to individual choices. One day you may elect to be a woman and the next day a man; you also can choose the following week or even minute to be bisexual. Many state and local governments have tried to accommodate this view by allowing people to change their sex at will. Supposedly there are no fixed gender identities and to claim that they are, represents a form of intolerance that government and courts are required to address. Where did this idea come from? What are the implications? And is it even worth the effort of debating those who believe it?

Those questions and more will be covered during our inaugural Backchannel videocast!
