Friend,
President Trump is attacking the very foundation of our democracy: our
elections. He continues to beat the drum of spurious claims of election
fraud around mail-in voting, and now he’s attacking the United States
Postal Service, in a move to hinder the vote-by-mail process come
November.
The California League of Conservation Voters is tirelessly working to
counteract these attacks and secure a safe and accessible election for all
Californians. We’ve been a leading voice in the coalition of civic groups
responsible for two new laws which will require that every Californian
receives a mail-in ballot and secures safe and accessible voting locations
for those who need it.
We’re also championing two electorate expanding propositions on the
November ballot: Proposition 18 will allow 17-year olds to vote in
primaries and special elections if they turn 18 by the general election;
and Proposition 17 will reinstate the right to vote for the almost 50,000
Californians on parole.
We know Trump’s attacks on our elections will continue now and through
election day. It is through your support that CLCV has the power to
continue to fight for safe and accessible elections for all Californians.

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
