In response to a question about COVID relief for millions of suffering Americans – including about 30 million unemployed and 5 million who have tested positive for the illness – Wisconsin GOP Senator, Ron Johnson, said:
"I hope the talks remain broken down"
This is outrageous. Johnson had no problem voting to give his wealthy family a huge tax cut, but now he says there is no money left for the health and economic well-being of Wisconsin families.
Instead of working with Democrats to pass legislation that could provide a lifeline for thousands of Wisconsinites and get our hospitals and cities the resources they need, Ron Johnson thinks more suffering will force workers to accept jobs that don’t exist.
In times like these, we need to make sure hard-working Wisconsinites have what they need to survive this pandemic – that must be our top priority.
