John,

Today, as I celebrate my 46th birthday, I realize how truly fortunate I am to have great friends and family...and my biggest wish would be to spend this time with you! Unfortunately, that’s just not in the cards this year. The global pandemic, and our nation’s reckoning over racial injustice, have created unprecedented challenges for us. But we will meet our challenges, and the one throughline I’ve always been able to count on is friends and supporters like you.

I wish more than anything that I could celebrate in person like we have in the past, enjoying music and good food and drinks, and I look forward to doing that together next year. 

For now, on this special day for me I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and ask in honor of my 46 years on this planet that you consider making a contribution of $46 to help support my work as Mayor. 

While there are many difficulties we are all facing, I’m hopeful we are on the road to a new day here in San Francisco. I’m working hard to ensure we are protecting San Franciscans during this pandemic and putting our City on the path to economic recovery. And nationally, we must do everything we can to elect Joe Biden and his running mate to take back the White House. I know that working together there is nothing we can’t accomplish.

Thank you for celebrating with me in spirit. Your friendship and support mean the world to me.
