Last night, I went on MS Now to talk about what’s really at stake in this race, and why this election will be a moment of accountability for Republicans like Zach Nunn.

Donald Trump doesn’t have to run for reelection. But every Republican in the House will have to answer for the consequences of their decisions — from rising costs and higher gas prices to cuts to health care that are already affecting families here in Iowa.

And when it comes to health care, I want to be very clear: what Zach Nunn has been telling Iowans simply isn’t true.

He’s claimed it’s a “myth” that rural health centers would close because of Medicaid cuts. But we’re already seeing the impact. Clinics have shut down. Families are being forced to drive long distances just to see a doctor. In some cases, that means traveling an hour or more for care that used to be available close to home.

This race is one of the most competitive in the country, and after winning by just 4 points, Zach Nunn is counting on voters not paying close enough attention.

I believe Iowans deserve better — a representative who will protect access to health care and actually show up for the communities they serve.
