Dear John,

The numbers and charts are getting hard to watch -- while some countries
have gotten the virus under control, Covid-19 cases and deaths are
skyrocketing in very vulnerable places like Brazil, the rural United
States, and some of the poorest countries in the Global South.

It’s an unprecedented global challenge that requires us to be more and do
more for each other than we ever imagined. That’s why SumOfUs members are
setting an example--we're pledging to love each other from a distance,
even though it’s hard. To act responsibly by practising social distancing,
even in the face of inaction from our world's leaders.

We know music fuels movements for change, so we started with a song to
reinforce our pledge. Hundreds of SumOfUs members from around the globe
sang and recorded “Get Good” to help us inspire our leaders to act with
us. Now we need you, John, to pledge, share, and help make our
message go viral.

It starts with the seemingly small things we do at home with our families,
but branches out to what we do on our streets, our neighborhoods, our
cities, countries… to us all working together to get good and being
together safely.

Our goal is to show -not tell- our leaders that we can do this. Our “Get
Good" pledge is a way to set an example for our leaders and to create a
community, from a distance, that supports each other. Here are some
commitments you can make today, depending on what you are able to give:

* Combat disinformation: share trusted infographics and content about
the importance of social distancing & masks on social media. [ [link removed] ]Check
out the WHO's shareable graphics here!
* Chip in to create a connected & safe community: help SumOfUs members
buy masks from local businesses or stay connected with cell phone
data. [ [link removed] ]Donate here!
* Spread the love: Tweet our video and pledge to world leaders.
[ [link removed] ]Access our database of leader’s Twitter handles here!
* Or stream and download our song on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc
-- you can even [ [link removed] ]download the instrumentals/acapellas to make your
own covers and remixes!

If each of us clicks the link below, and takes even just one of these
actions, our pledge could go viral and set a powerful example that leaves
world leaders with no choice but to follow our example.

This virus has taken away so much. But if this moment teaches us to act
out of love for people we don’t know, instead of just for ourselves and
our own families, it could transform our societies and politics forever.
SumOfUs members have committed to being at the forefront of that kind of
change. Let’s do it together - let’s get good at a new kind of love.
