John, we have to face the facts: Our efforts to get out the vote this year are going to have to look tremendously different than they ever have before.

It's clear that we can't just rely on the same get-out-the-vote tactics that have worked in the past. These unprecedented circumstances are calling for unprecedented levels of investment in voter education.

While some might say we can't afford to educate and inform every single voter, I am here to tell you that we can't afford not to if we want to win this election. But that requires a tremendous amount of resources -- much more than we have on hand right now, to be candid -- to expand our current get-out-the-vote efforts and innovate new, virtual ways to reach folks in all 50 states plus the territories. That's why I'm coming to you:

Every American has the right to vote, and our party is committed to fulfilling this fundamental promise. Will you pitch in $7 so that we can spread factual, reliable information about voting in the era of COVID-19 and help our candidates up and down the ballot win? This will be an expensive effort, but it's the most important thing we can do to win this election.

Voting by mail allows for a greater participation in our democratic process -- and this petrifies the Republican Party. That’s because they know that their chances of holding majorities and picking up seats across the country are worse off if more people vote. Republicans have gone to great lengths to inhibit people from safely voting, and we can only expect them to up the ante as we get closer to November 3.

Our party is dedicated to countering any and all voting disinformation while running one of the most robust, cutting-edge, get-out-the-vote operations our party has ever seen. But our success depends upon the urgent support of Democrats like you. We need to start reaching out to voters now, while there is still enough time for everyone who wants to vote by mail to request their ballots and make a voting-day plan. That can only happen if our party has the adequate resources needed to scale up our get-out-the-vote operation and drown out the false information of bad actors.
