I hope that today, you remember how important your voice is. The only way to have a truly functioning democracy is through civic engagement and exercising your fundamental right to vote. Our nation was founded on the principle that the government should be determined by the people.

Unfortunately, that sense of democracy in Washington, D.C. has diminished over the years. Dark money, corruption, and abuse of power have undermined our democratic process and in turn, silenced the voices and the will of everyday Americans.
