2020 is going to be one of the most important elections of our lifetimes. That's why NIAC Action is gearing up to launch the largest Iranian-American voter outreach campaign in history. This year, we'll be reaching out to hundreds of thousands of Iranian-American voters across the country to make sure they're turning out to vote and have all the tools they need to be COVID-conscious while they do it. But building political power for our community isn't just about turning out to vote, it's about making sure we elect the right people into office. 

We've already endorsed numerous allies and champions of our community in Congressional and local races, but we have one big question left to answer before we launch our 2020 Beshkan the Vote election work next week: Should NIAC Action endorse Joe Biden to become the next President of the United States?

We have never previously endorsed in a Presidential race and believe this is a critical question for our members to decide. The Biden campaign has already committed to our two top asks — repealing the Muslim ban on day one and returning to the Iran deal. These are two commitments any candidate has to make before we consider an endorsement.

If we endorse Joe Biden, NIAC Action will run a massive campaign to persuade voters to turn out and vote for him and our other endorsees. If not, we'll still run a massive voter outreach campaign, but we will focus solely on encouraging people to vote for our endorsees and to vote in the presidential election -- but not who to vote for.
