Getting kids to do chores reliably can be an uphill battle, especially if they have problems with attention or organization. It’s tempting to give up and do the work yourself. But it’s worth the effort to enlist them, and not just because the pandemic is putting so much stress on families. There is a lot of evidence that helping around the house from an early age is very good for children.

This week on childmind.org ([link removed]) we explore how pitching in on household tasks helps kids build and practice important skills. And our experts offer advice about how to get kids to do chores ([link removed]) consistently — including the sticky issue of whether it’s okay to reward them for doing so.
