Hi there. This is Rebecca Bennett, a Democratic veteran and mom of two running for Congress in one of the most flippable districts nationwide: New Jersey's 7th.
As we embark on this campaign together to take back the U.S. House, our country is approaching its 250th anniversary.
For two hundred and fifty years, this country has served as a beacon of freedom, prosperity, and possibility for the rest of the world. It is a country built by dreamers from every walk of life, bound together by the common idea that if you work hard, you can build the life you want.
That promise has never been perfect, but it has always been worth fighting for.
As Americans, we may have different backgrounds and different points of view. We may disagree on plenty. But we are united by something deeper: a love of country and a commitment to the ideals that have defined us for 250 years.
That commitment to fairness and perseverance is what's built the strongest military, the largest economy, and the most dynamic culture in the world.

At the end of the day, we are all on the same team. That's why when I go knock on doors, I wear a ballcap with an American flag, because Democrats love this country too.
|
I call myself a patriot because I believe deeply enough in this country's promise to fight for it every single day. I've spent my life in service to this country, and I intend to spend the rest of it the same way: standing up for its citizens, protecting its values, and working every day to make sure we are leaving this country better off than we found it for my daughters and the next generation.
Thank you for being part of this team.
– Rebecca
