The Senate is considering anti-voter bills that would restrict the freedom to
vote for millions of eligible Americans. The House Republicans passed a SAVE
Act 2.0 bill—an even worse version of the original bill intended to
disenfranchise voters and control elections. These latest attacks on our voting
rights must be stopped.

The SAVE Act and similar bills would undo decades of voting rights progress,
eliminating registration by mail, voter registration drives, and potentially
even online registration. Trump and his allies are pushing this anti-voter bill
precisely because it would silence those who oppose his agenda.



The SAVE Act would disproportionately affect:

* Married women: The 69 million married women who have taken their spouse’s
names cannot use their birth certificates to prove citizenship under this bill,
and there is no option to provide legal name change documents.
* Trans people: Many trans people have updated their legal names and gender
markers, but only 11% have updated all their ID documents. Trump policies have
also made it harder for trans people to obtain accurate passports, leaving them
with few options to meet the bill’s rigid requirements.
* Rural communities, people of color, and Americans with low incomes: In
states like West Virginia, Mississippi, and Alabama, over 70% of citizens do
not have a passport. People with less education or lower income are
significantly less likely to have a valid passport, which is expensive and
difficult to obtain.
* This isn't about election security. Noncitizen voting is already illegal
and vanishingly rare. It's about making it harder for some of us to vote so
lawmakers can stay in power without being held accountable.
Help us fight to protect the fundamental right to vote for all U.S. citizens:
