** Education Data is Critical for COVID-19 Recovery
------------------------------------------------------------

Recovery can’t happen without data. To help leaders determine the best path forward, DQC created four resources ([link removed]) on education data and COVID-19 recovery. Read the resources below for the short- and long-term steps that leaders should take to promote recovery in their states and districts and to ensure that students succeed.
* NEW Supporting Students While Learning at Home: Individual Student Data and the COVID-19 Crisis ([link removed]) : Educators and families must be able to use data to meet students where they are and tailor instruction to their needs – and need the resources, tools, and training to do so.
* NEW Maintaining Trust as Data Use Changes: Student Data Privacy and the COVID-19 Crisis ([link removed]) : States must provide data privacy and security support so that families feel confident that their child’s data is safeguarded, regardless of platform and learning environment.
* Promoting Transparency and Maintaining Public Trust: Report Cards and the COVID-19 Crisis ([link removed]) : Report cards are the most direct and transparent way for state leaders to communicate with the public and ensure that decisionmakers and communities can answer their most pressing questions about the unique challenges schools and communities will face during recovery.
* Using Data to Understand What Works: Research and the COVID-19 Crisis ([link removed]) : Actionable research provides state and district leaders with insights into the policies and programs that best serve their communities.
