John,  This is Jamie Davis, the third-generation Louisiana farmer and lifelong Democrat running to restore sanity to Washington, DC by flipping this Senate seat this year. But before we can think about stopping Trump’s madness in DC, we have to deal with the madness in my race here in the Bayou State: The GOP primary has become a bitter race to the bottom—a perfect encapsulation of how total Republican control of Louisiana has placed my once-great state at the very bottom of rankings for education, healthcare, economy, public safety, and overall quality of life. Incumbent GOP Senator Bill Cassidy is calling his Trump-endorsed opponent in the race, Julia Letlow, “Liberal Letlow” and now his latest attack ad, part of a $15 million ad buy, says “In Congress, liberal Julia Letlow got rich trading stocks…” and then claims that Cassidy himself singlehandedly “stopped Biden’s war on energy.”  While Republicans absolutely destroy each other in a nasty three-way primary to see who will take me on in this key 2026 race, I have been crisscrossing the state listening to folks everywhere about what they need from their leaders. And what I hear on the trail tells a different story: good people, Republicans and Democrats, people who voted for Trump, people who voted for Harris, and people who simply didn’t vote—all are talking to me about their immediate struggles. They are looking for a leader, a real person, to cut through the BS and fight for them. They hear what the Republicans have to offer and they aren’t interested. But they don’t trust Democrats either. We can change that, but it is going to take lots of hard work, outreach, and communication. I have lived and worked this land my entire life. I am ready to lead Louisiana and stand with the people, not the politicians. I am a Louisiana farmer running for the US Senate to defeat MAGA and flip this seat red to blue.
