Dear John,

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing Easter weekend and some welcome sunshine.

School holidays are underway which also means Parliament is in recess, and I’m looking forward to spending more time out in the community over the next couple of weeks.

Ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to create uncertainty internationally and is pushing up fuel prices here at home. We remain focused on securing fuel supply for Kiwis and are aware of the pressure being felt at the pump. While it may be tempting to turn on the firehose and splash cash around, doing so would only drive inflation higher and leave households worse off for years to come. Responsible government means providing practical support now, without creating bigger problems later – more on this below.

It’s hard to believe we are more than a quarter of the way through the year, with around only seven months to go until election day on 7 November. As we head toward the election, if you’d like to be part of the campaign then I would love to hear from you. Our campaign is powered by local people who care about the future of Rangitīkei and Horowhenua. Whether it’s delivering flyers, making calls, hosting a cottage meeting, putting up a sign or helping behind the scenes, every bit of support makes a difference. Please send me an email at: [email protected]
