Two huge wins for Wisconsin! |

Hi John, We did it. Ever wonder if your support for Wisconsin Conservation Voters truly moves the needle? Well, you need look no further than the last 72 hours.
On Monday, we celebrated a massive legislative victory as the PFAS funding bill finally crossed the finish line. Today, we celebrate a resounding victory for Judge Chris Taylor for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. These are not two separate wins.

Connecting the ballot box to the faucet Environmental protections are only as strong as the courts that uphold them. This historic double win demonstrates what your support makes possible: -
Legislative pressure: Years of grassroots organizing and electing conservation champions led to Monday’s passage of the PFAS bill. This victory provides the essential resources needed to clean up the forever chemicals contaminating our drinking water.
-
The judicial shield: We know that corporate polluters don't stop when a bill passes. They often head straight to the courts to sue and strip the DNR of its power. The election of Judge Chris Taylor ensures that policies we help enact are protected in the courts.
-
A people powered election victory: Nearly 400 volunteer shifts helped us send more than 20,000 postcards to voters. With postcard parties across the state, a sharp increase in postcard senders, and nearly 90 more volunteer shifts, you helped us to outpace our 2025 election efforts, even in a lower profile race.
-
Long-term stability: By electing Judge Taylor, we have locked in a pro-conservation, pro-democracy majority until at least 2030. Wisconsin is now protected against the dismantling of environmental standards in a single election cycle.
By electing Judge Chris Taylor, voters have sent a clear message that we will not allow corporate polluters or political extremists to dismantle our progress. This victory, combined with the hard-won PFAS funding bill, proves our electoral work is a direct catalyst for policy wins. |
How we accomplished the PFAS victory: -
A purple legislature: We invested in elections that flipped the composition of the State Supreme Court to a pro-conservation majority, we won fair maps, and we helped flip 14 seats in the state legislature so that it now needs to be more responsive to impacted Wisconsinites. None of this would have been possible without your generous gifts of your time, talent, and treasure.
-
A seven-year fight: From the first PFAS standards to our Right to Know campaign, this was a marathon not a sprint.
- A massive coalition: We grew a stakeholder group from 30 to more than 60 organizations, all demanding a $1 billion investment in our water.
-
Real results: This session, we secured a total of $894 million for Wisconsin’s water infrastructure. That’s nearly 90 percent of what one Capitol insider called our “irresponsibly ambitious” goal!
A firewall for Wisconsin
In a time of immense uncertainty at the federal level, Wisconsin has built a firewall. This week proves that when we organize, we don’t just move the needle, we change the map. We have ensured our state’s highest court will remain a fair, independent check against corporate overreach and a defender of our most basic rights like clean water and the freedom to vote. Take a moment to celebrate! This momentum is yours, and it is exactly what we need as we head into the critical elections this fall.
Thank you for standing with us, taking action, voting, and giving generously. These profound victories are impossible without you. |
