This is unacceptable.

I just learned that users on prediction markets were allowed to bet on when missing American pilots in Iran would be rescued. While it’s widely known that trading activity tied to events in Iran has surged, this crosses a serious line.

It’s wrong – and the lack of safeguards raises real concerns about the potential for insider trading by individuals with access to classified information.

That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation, the PREDICT Act, to ban government officials – including members of Congress and the Trump Administration – from betting on political events on prediction market platforms.

It’s clear to see why many Americans deeply distrust our leaders in Washington. If passed, this legislation will prevent corruption and restore confidence in our institutions.
