Immigrants’ List Civic Action is proud to announce that we will be honoring Representative Raul Ruiz (D-CA-25) at this year’s Capitol Awards!
As a physician and an immigrant himself, Rep. Ruiz brings a unique perspective to immigration legislation in Congress. Since his election in 2012, he has been a consistent advocate for immigrants and their families.

Rep. Ruiz has used his unique experience to evaluate the living conditions of ICE detention centers and introduce the Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in ICE and CBP Custody Act. In the past, he helped to pass legislation protecting Dreamers and farm workers. Recently, he sued the Trump Administration and won, allowing members of Congress to visit ICE detention centers without notice.
Rep. Ruiz will be honored for his work at this year’s Capitol Awards after the AILA National Day of Action. Join us for our reception on Thursday, April 16, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. ET at the SAX Restaurant and Lounge in Washington, DC. Keep an eye out for more honorees to be announced soon!
Tickets are available to purchase! ([link removed]) Early Bird tickets start at $30, giving attendees full access to an open buffet, drinks, and to hear from our honorees! We are offering a special thank-you for those who choose to give $60– you’ll receive a voucher redeemable at our merchandise table for a free t-shirt, hat, or other items! Ticket prices will increase next week, so be sure to secure your spot early.
