Yesterday, Wisconsin voters elected Judge Chris Taylor to the state Supreme Court in a landslide victory.
Taylor won by 20 points — the largest margin of any pro-choice candidate in recent Wisconsin Supreme Court history. That’s the fourth consecutive win for pro-choice candidates on this court.
With Taylor’s victory, the liberal majority on Wisconsin’s highest court expands to 5-2, and six of the court’s seven justices are now women.
Taylor focused her campaign on abortion rights, and voters responded.
Across consecutive cycles now, we’ve seen that extreme views on abortion aren’t just unpopular; they’re outright disqualifying.
In 2023, Justice Janet Protasiewicz ran TV ads putting her support for abortion rights front and center, and won by 11 points. In 2025, Justice Susan Crawford ran on her record representing Planned Parenthood, and won by 10 points despite Elon Musk spending millions against her. In each race, the anti-choice candidate tried to dodge the abortion question, but voters were not fooled.
This November, we have the opportunity to notch more court wins.
In Michigan, we're defending a pro-choice state Supreme Court majority that we fought hard to build. In North Carolina and Ohio, pro-choice justices are on the ballot in races that will shape what's possible in 2028 and beyond. And in Arizona, voters will weigh in on the retention of the justice who authored the opinion upholding the state's 1864 abortion ban.
State courts are often where abortion protections are enforced, and where unconstitutional restrictions are struck down. Vote Pro-Choice will continue working to ensure voters know what's on the line in these races — because when voters know what’s at stake, they show up to elect pro-choice candidates.
