Sign On: Less Than Two Weeks Left to Oppose the HUD Mixed-Status Rule and Protect Families
On February 20, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking [[link removed]] to bar mixed-status families from living in HUD-assisted housing. The proposed rule would deny housing assistance to eligible individuals — including U.S. citizens and lawfully present immigrants — if someone in their household does not have an eligible immigration status. Less than two weeks remain to join PIF in opposing the proposed rule by signing-on your organization to our comment through the link below by April 20 !

Partner Sign-On: Child-Focused Letter to Oppose the HUD Mixed-Status Rule
The proposed Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mixed-status rule threatens to terminate housing assistance for almost 80,000 low-income people, including 37,000 children, most of whom are U.S. citizens or otherwise “qualified” noncitizens, and to force the harmful separation or displacement of about 20,000 mixed-status families. This proposal would have profound and damaging consequences for the well-being and long-term success of children and their families. The Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN) invites children’s advocacy and provider organizations to sign on to a child-focused comment to oppose the rule and help protect the well-being of all children in the United States.
