Allowing Iran to acquire advanced weapons puts our troops, our allies, and our interests in danger.
In May, nearly 90% of the House signed a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo calling for an extension of the arms embargo on Iran. In the Senate, 57 senators have cosponsored a bipartisan resolution calling on the U.N. Security Council to extend the embargo.
Secretary of State Pompeo announced last week that the United States will introduce a resolution at the Security Council this week to extend the arms embargo.
Pompeo has also said that "one way or another" the embargo will be extended. We will keep you informed as developments unfold.
