In honor of Earth Month, we are setting a goal to fund the screening of 10,000 patients at Orbis’s women-led green vision centers. Help us reach that goal before the end of the month, and help 10,000 children and adults see clearly! ([link removed])

For women and girls in rural communities, accessing eye care can be nearly impossible.

Eye care centers are often far away, and families don’t have the funds to travel to where clinics are located. Plus, a lack of financial resources prevents women’s and children’s health needs from being prioritized.

The gender gap in eye care is huge – which is why Orbis has helped establish 63 women-led green vision centers to date with another 50 planned by 2030, all led by women.

These centers strive to fill that gap by putting care in reach.
HELP PROVIDE AN EYE SCREENING TODAY ([link removed])
Located in the communities they serve, these women-led vision centers are staffed by female ophthalmic professionals who can diagnose eye diseases, provide glasses, and refer patients for more advanced treatment. Some even offer teleconsultations, so patients can speak to an ophthalmologist without traveling long distances.

Women often feel more comfortable receiving care for themselves or their children from a female provider, and the services are free or subsidized for those unable to afford the costs.

Not only are they affordable, but the women-led green vision centers are also sustainable!

Each center runs on solar power and is designed to have a minimal carbon footprint, which is especially important in hard-to-reach communities with unreliable energy sources.
