No question about it — August is a critical month in any election, but especially this one. Give me a chance to briefly explain.

One week from today, Milwaukee will virtually host the Democratic National Convention, where we will formally nominate Joe Biden as our presidential candidate. Shortly after, Republicans will formally nominate Donald Trump at their own convention.

There’s not much time standing between today and November 3, which means we’ve officially reached the final sprint to Election Day. And, folks, now is not the time to rest easy, not when Wisconsin has such an important role to play.

As the home base for the Democratic National Convention and the “tipping point” state in this election, Wisconsin is at the center of determining who our next president will be.

Four years ago, Trump won our state by less than one point, giving him the final electoral votes he needed to win the White House — and now that two recent polls show the presidential race is within a single point in our state, it could all happen again.

The margin will be razor-thin in Wisconsin, which means every single thing we do will make the difference in the handful of votes that will decide this election and determine who our next president will be.
