CREW has made waves in the last week. Take a look:
* The New York Times [[link removed]] built on our investigation [[link removed]] of pardoned January 6th insurrectionists who are facing other criminal charges in their new editorial condemning Trump’s pardons. This group of individuals who have been rearrested, charged or sentenced for other crimes since January 6, 2021 keeps growing—and includes several now who have been charged for serious crimes since Trump pardoned them. These pardons are not just alarming—they’re dangerous for both our democracy and public safety.
* MSNOW [[link removed]] covered CREW’s recent investigation [[link removed]] that showed that 20 out of 23 Trump cabinet members have direct money to Trump’s businesses, pet projects or political apparatus—totalling at least $30 million.
* CREW President Donald Sherman also spoke to CNN [[link removed]] to raise concerns about the Department of Justice’s recent stance that the Presidential Records Act is unconstitutional. As he said, it’s nonsense, and it’s all “part of the President’s ongoing and escalating assault on transparency and oversight.”
* The Hill [[link removed]] reported on our complaint [[link removed]] demanding an investigation by the Pentagon’s inspector general into whether the military flyover of Kid Rock’s home violated any federal or DOD rules including ethics rules, how much taxpayer money was spent and Pete Hegseth’s decision to reverse Army personnel’s suspension.
* Law & Crime [[link removed]] recently reported on a major ruling in our favor, allowing our lawsuit [[link removed]] challenging the shuttering of the CDC and HHS Freedom of Information Act offices under RFK Jr.’s leadership. This decision by a Trump appointed judge delivered a major setback for the Trump administration’s efforts to keep Americans in the dark about their actions.
