I was there on January 6 — badge on, on the line — as a Capitol Police officer trying to hold back a mob incited by the President of the United States.
I saw what happens when people in power forget who they’re supposed to serve. I saw the ego. The cowardice. The consequences.
That’s why I’m running for Congress.
I don’t care about respectability politics. I’m not interested in going along to get along.
Here’s what I am interested in:
Defending voting rights
Protecting reproductive rights
Lowering prescription drug costs
Fixing our broken immigration system
After 16 years on the Capitol Police force, I know what this fight looks like up close. And I know what’s at stake if we lose.
But winning this race won’t be easy.
One of my opponents is reporting an average contribution of $612. Mine is $18.81.
I’m proud of that number. It means our movement is built on real people — not big checks from a handful of donors. But it also means every time one person writes my opponent a four-figure check, I’m counting on dozens of grassroots supporters to step up and match it.
We’re working toward 5,000 new donations this week. If you’ve been thinking about jumping in, now is the time.
Will you chip in $18.81 — or whatever you can — before midnight? [ [link removed] ]
I spent my years defending the Capitol. Now I want to serve in it — for the people of Maryland’s 5th District, and for everyone who believes we can’t afford to hand the House back to MAGA.
Together,
Harry
