#OURPOWER is in our numbers. Last week, we took the fight right to the NRA and we WON. Stay plugged in to Our Power with this newsletter!

Last Week... Whew!

We're ramping up our efforts across the board. Our voice, our POWER is growing and we are SHOWING UP!

I don't even know where to begin- so much happened in the last few days. This week's update is going to feature a pretty good wrap up led by one of our Regional Organizing Directors, Linnea! (Make sure to press "load pictures" at the top of this email if they didn't load yet)

We're starting first with our Ohio organizers, who launched an advocacy campaign to push their governor to reject "Stand Your Ground" laws that have been making their way through the legislature since 2005. Their coalition of eight organizations have gathered over 3,000 signatures on their petition! #StandWithOhio and sign right here!

Above is MFOL Texas' statewide banner drop. Across the state, they dropped 32 banners in public spaces with one message: Invest in communities- not the police.

And the biggest news yet: The New York Attorney General Tish James filed a MAJOR LEGAL ACTION to DISSOLVE THE NRA. Just two years ago, we marched. We organized. We built a nationwide movement. When we filed a complaint to the NYAG calling for an investigation into the NRA's finances, we knew we needed BOLD action.

Well, it happened. So we took the #NRAisOverParty right to the NRA's headquarters and our Virgina team even brought a U-Haul truck to help them move out!

Pictured above is MFOL Georgia at Stone Mountain- the largest monument to the Confederacy in the country- also home to the President of the NRA, Carolyn Meadows.

And that's not even everything! This week, we also launched our FIRST TV AD which just broke 1M+ views, hosted an event series called IntoAction with the Kennedy Center and John Legend, and so much more!

Want to get in on the action? Join us next week for Poetic Justice at 6PM ET!

COVID-19 Resources

As a reminder, all chapter activities in-person are still suspended until further notice. During this strange time, it’s important to create networks of mutual support. Here’s some resources that grassroots organizers have compiled.
