John,
For months, states and election officials have been asking Congress for emergency assistance, but not nearly enough election funding has been allocated to adequately protect our elections.
Read Meredith’s email below and help us as we urge Congress to help states run safe and secure elections this fall by including additional funding in the next coronavirus relief package.
Thank you for your support,

John,
There’s less than 90 days until Election Day, and states don’t have the resources they need to run safe and secure elections. That’s unacceptable.
While Congress allocated $400 million in their third coronavirus relief package for state elections, that’s just a fraction of what states need to get the job done. That’s why election officials across the country and aisle have been calling for additional election funding — but Congress has yet to act.
Can you donate today and help us run an aggressive national social media campaign to spread the message far and wide that Congress must help states run safe and secure elections this year?
Issue One has been beating the drum nationwide about this issue and we’re making progress — Democratic and Republican lawmakers agree that states need more funding. But the question is how much.
As we’ve seen in multiple primaries this year, running an election during a pandemic is hard work — but it’s particularly difficult if you don’t have enough money to run it in a way that allows all eligible voters to safely cast their ballot.
Because of problems like malfunctioning voting machines and hours-long lines at polling locations, and the unprecedented numbers of absentee ballots this year, states and election officials have asked for emergency funding from Congress.
Congress must heed that call in the next COVID relief package before it’s too late.
Donate today and help us keep up the pressure on Congress to protect our elections this year!
Thanks for all you do,
Meredith McGehee Executive Director, Issue One
