Everything is on the line in 2020. Even if Democrats win the White House, we won’t be able to make progress for the American people until we take back the Senate from Mitch McConnell.
There is no excuse for the Majority Leader’s inaction. From failing to enact commonsense gun safety legislation to refusing to protect our elections from foreign interference, Mitch McConnell is choosing time and time again to obstruct all progress in the name of his partisan agenda.
With a Democratic Senate, alongside a Democratic House and President, we can begin to undo the damage caused by President Trump and move our country in the right direction again. We can take action on climate change, reduce the cost of health care, and defend our democracy.
But our only hope of accomplishing anything in the Senate is by ensuring Mitch McConnell is no longer the Majority Leader after 2020. And we have a crucial part to play right here in Illinois.
