Here’s the thing: In a state as competitive as Pennsylvania, no candidate can win by preaching to the choir. You have to reach out to independent voters and folks who, frankly, won’t agree with everything you have to say.

But John, that’s why I ran for Governor in the first place. Pennsylvania is a big state — and yes, we have our fair share of differences. But I also know this:

There is so much more that unites us as Pennsylvanians than what divides us.

Talk to any of your neighbors, Republican or Democrat. And what you’ll hear from nearly every Pennsylvanian? They all want the same things. They all want to send their kids to good schools. They want to bring down the cost of living and make life more affordable. They want to live their lives how we see fit, without the government standing in the way.

That’s what this campaign is all about, John — and I really believe it’s a winning message. But the only way we can get that message out to all 67 counties across Pennsylvania? We need to build a historic campaign — with historic investment to reach Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike.

If we want to win these voters over, we can’t just reach them once. We need to reach them again and again, from now until the moment polls close on Election Day — and that takes a lot of resources.
