On the very first day of this campaign, I promised to refuse any and all donations from corporate PACs. I knew it would put us at a huge fundraising disadvantage while my opponent raked in big checks from corporate donors.

It might not have been the easy thing to do, but it sure as heck was the right thing.

You see, I never wanted there to be a question of who I worked for. I wanted this campaign to be fueled by everyday people fighting for a movement we all believed in.

That’s exactly what happened...

On day one, Ethan from Denver chipped in $5. Then, Judith from Fountain pitched in $25. And Michael from Durango even donated $100. Soon after, more and more people from all over Colorado chipped in what they could to make a difference.

And that, my friends, is what a people-powered movement looks like.

Now, we’re facing our toughest battle yet. Dark money and GOP groups are outspending us — by millions — to prop up my opponent, and the latest poll of this race has it within single digits. Republicans will do whatever it takes to try to tear down what we have built together.

But I know this incredible grassroots team has the power to come out on top. I’ve seen it before. And I’m counting on it now.
